Its also important to ensure that you take very good car of your hired car whilst it is in your possession as the rental companies will not be very forgiving should a vehicle be returned to them damaged in anyway.  You will usually be required to sign a contract and pay a refundable deposit before the keys of the vehicle are handed over to you as the company will need to protect itself and its vehicles from such eventualities.  The deposit paid to the company will usually be refunded to you open returning the vehicle to them in good condition..
