Lowering Emissions

Lowering emissions from cars and other vehicles is the aim of many governments around the world who are looking to combat the effects of climate change. However, this is easier said than done, particularly as our society is heavily reliant on motor vehicles. A great deal of time an money have been invested in searching for alternative fuel sources, however, despite various breakthroughs people will still insist on filling up their fuel tanks with petrol.

There are alternatives such as LPG fuel, but most people already own cars that run off petrol or diesel fuel and the cost of conversion is high. Also, many people suspect that wealthy oil and petrochemical firms will use their power and wealth to buy out ideas and innovations that may lead to change in our driving habits in order to keep people filling up their fuel tanks with their product.

However, although the situation may seem hopeless there is still plenty you can do to help make a difference. First off, simply reducing the amount you drive will make a difference. Instead of driving to the shops, why not walk. Not only will this help the environment, but you'll also save money on not having to fill up your fuel tank so frequently. This can only be a good thing, particularly as the cost of fuel is sky rocketing, making driving an increasingly expensive activity.
